Abu Dhabi, March 29 , 2023: The Emirates Metrology Institute of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) said it participated in the meetings of the Joint International Committee of the Regional Metrology Bodies (JCRB), organized by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) and the Regional Metrological Bodies (RMOs) in Paris, as part of its endeavor in seeking to raise the capabilities of regional members.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Emirates Metrology Institute, said: "This meeting is one of the most prominent events of BIPM, which supervises metrology activities worldwide and hence the importance of the Institute's participation."
He said the Institute's 10 measurement and calibration capabilities (CMCs) that support access of local products in global markets and enhance its competitiveness have been published in the database of BIPM-KCDB.
The  Institute chairs the quality committee of the Gulf Metrology Assembly (GULFMET) and is entrusted with submitting a status report on the  quality management systems in the Gulf assembly, based on data  provided by metrologist experts and specialists from  all over the world, which immensely benefit   and help refine national skills in this field in the Gulf countries.
His Excellency said the participation in the JCRB meetings puts the Institute and the UAE in general among the ranks of developed countries in the world in metrology, which in turn help enhance competitiveness while contributing to strengthening cooperation and partnerships with regional and international entities.
He stressed that the Institute is committed to represent the GCC countries in such a global forum to reflect the level of quality and measurement capabilities of the countries of the region, and help them earn acceptance and confidence across the world. JCRB coordinates regional groupings on calibration and measurement certificates in line with the terms of mutual recognition - CIPM-MRA - and to highlight the achievements in this field to member states in a detailed report.
