The Nutri-mark grade is calculated using a standardised nutrient profiling model described in the Abu Dhabi Guideline for the Use of the Nutrition Mark (ADG 44) which can be downloaded here [SH1]
The calculation assesses both nutrients to limit (e.g. energy, sugars, saturated fat, sodium) and nutrients or components to encourage (e.g. fibre, protein, fruits and vegetables) with the final score determining the displayed Nutri-Mark grade.
To ensure consistency and regulatory alignment, the QCC provides an official Excel-based calculation tool for industry use when determining the Nurti-Mark grade which can be downloaded from here.
