Abu Dhabi, January 31, 2024: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) conducted a workshop to declare the elimination of appointment fees for delegating conformity assessment bodies.
The event was attended by H.E. Bader Khamis Alshemaili, Executive Director of the Conformity and Standards Services Sector. The workshop featured a presentation highlighting the latest updates in project procedures, particularly in the fields of laboratory testing, including services for testing building materials, soil, and the environment.
This workshop aligns with the continuous efforts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to improve the quality of services for government projects, fostering collaboration and streamlining processes for competent authorities.It is worth mentioning that the project to appoint conformity assessment bodies was initiated in 2019, involving the authorization of 27 laboratories. These laboratories have since provided over 3,000 tests in construction, building materials, and environmental fields to meet the needs of various government agencies.
The discussion of the abolition of appointment fees clearly reflects the commitment of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to provide a more attractive environment for investment and the development of various sectors by providing facilities that enhance both economic activity and competitiveness.
It is expected that the new decision will enhance innovation and development in the conformity and standards sector and the role of assessment bodies in providing high-quality services to government agencies and companies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Bader Khamis Alshemaili, Executive Director of the council's Conformity and Standards Services Sector, said, "After extensive discussions, we announce the cancellation of the appointment fees for the delegating conformity assessment bodies project, which was discussed at the workshop, through new updates in the project procedures. The aim of this decision is to promote economic and social development and achieve a sustainable economy based on knowledge, competitiveness, experience, and diversity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in accordance with the policies and directives aimed at supporting public-private partnerships.
