AlDhafra, October 14, 2024: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC), represented by the Central Testing Laboratory, is participating in the third edition of the Liwa Dates Festival and Auction 2024, held in Madinat Zayed, Al Dhafra region, from October 11 to 20.

The event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra region, and is supervised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority. It combines agricultural and heritage activities while highlighting the date industry.
The Central Testing Laboratory is participating in the event by supporting the honey competitions through precise laboratory testing of honey samples submitted for the "Honey Mazinah" competition, one of the festival’s key highlights.

The festival, featuring various date competitions and auctions, aims to support the agricultural sector, encourage local date production, and strengthen its position as a significant international heritage event.

The festival not only showcases the finest quality dates but also aims to encourage farmers to enhance their product quality, exchange expertise in date palm cultivation, and contribute to the UAE's food security goals.

H.E. Engineer Abdulla Al Muaini, Executive Director of the Central Testing Laboratory Sector, emphasized that the ADQCC's participation in the festival reflects its commitment to supporting the quality of local products and promoting agricultural awareness. He noted that the laboratory aims to provide the best services to farmers and participants in this important heritage event.
“Laboratory testing is a vital element in the agricultural sector, as it ensures the quality and safety of products reaching consumers by verifying their conformity with approved standards, ensuring they are free of contaminants and harmful substances, and enhancing production quality through nutritional analysis. It also provides recommendations to farmers and producers to improve farming and production processes,” he added.

Rigorous testing conducted by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council's Central Testing Laboratory ensures that products meet the highest international standards, enhancing the competitiveness of UAE products in local and international markets and supporting the country's efforts to achieve sustainable food security.
