A number of senior officials from both sides took part in the remote meeting, where they agreed to exchange expertise in the field of conformity and standards to further support the UAE’s and Saudi Arabia’s economies, quality infrastructure, and private sector businesses.
During the meeting, the QCC and SASO outlined the most important schemes and initiatives that they both carry out and shared the results achieved on the ground, which significantly contributed to developing the quality and conformity infrastructure in the two countries.
While highlighting the latest achievements made by the QCC, Al Kaabi affirmed that the council is very much interested to promote its cooperation and strategic partnership with SASO. 
He introduced the Saudi counterpart to the conformity, standards, and laboratory services offered by the council and shed light on the role played by the Emirates Metrology institute to strengthen the UAE’s position as a national reference in measurement by providing quality calibration, consulting, intercomparisons, training and rehabilitation services.
“The QCC is doing its utmost to ensure fair trade in the market. It subjects the exported and imported goods in Abu Dhabi to strict control in cooperation with competent authorities,” Al Kaabi said, adding “The Consumers and Markets Services Sector effectively monitors the emirate's markets to check the safety of products and ensure that they are free of substances that may pose health and safety risks to the public.
Lauding the efforts made by the Saudi counterpart, Al Kaabi emphasized that SASO has become one of the region’s leading organizations in the field of quality infrastructure, saying that the QCC is eager to enhance its cooperation, exchange expertise and innovative systems with SASO to further develop the quality infrastructure in both countries. 
For his part, Al Qasabi expressed his admiration at the remarkable development achieved by Abu Dhabi in the field of quality and conformity infrastructure, adding that the council has played a significant role in bolstering the quality of products being traded locally.
Al-Qasabi stressed the importance of exchanging expertise between the two sides especially in conformity, standards and quality fields, something which would boost the integration between both sides, increase their volume of trade exchange and develop the conformity and standards infrastructure in the two nations.
During the meeting, the governor of SASO reviewed a number of initiatives and programmes carried out by the Kingdom as part of its preparation for the future and the next phase of development. “We are taking several proactive steps to develop the Kingdom’s potential, laboratory capabilities, quality, measurement and calibration as well as to expand the country’s standard specifications to cover as many goods and commodities as possible while at the same time ensure consumers’ safety,” Al-Qasabi said.
