Abu Dhabi, August 13, 2024: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) held the meeting of the Abu Dhabi Standard Technical Committee for the second quarter of 2024, chaired by H.E. Brigadier Jassim Al Harmoudi, First Vice Chairman of the Standard Technical Committee. The committee includes 37 members representing 25 government entities.
The meeting discussed several standards and technical documents, most notably the Abu Dhabi Standard Technical for Smart Gas Meters. These standards were prepared at the request of ADNOC City Gas in cooperation with various government entities, including the Department of Energy, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, and representatives of the private sector.
These technical standards aim to provide a unified framework for quality control and conformity for the targeted meters, standardize specifications, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance public safety and security in gas handling within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
H.E. Brigadier Jassim Al Harmoudi, First Vice Chairman of the Committee, stated, "The outputs of the Standard Technical Committee align with the Council's vision to enhance the quality infrastructure and contribute to enabling the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to excel globally."
"The Council collaborates with government and private sector partners to develop technical and professional standards across various sectors, striving to ensure quality and conformity in all activities and industries," he added.
Brigadier Jassim Al Harmoudi emphasized the importance of these technical standards in improving efficiency and enhancing public safety and security in the gas sector within the Emirate.
H.E. affirmed that the Standard Technical Committee will continue its efforts to develop additional standards and technical documents to further enhance the quality of infrastructure and services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
