Abu Dhabi, October 02, 2024: The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) organized an awareness workshop titled "Abu Dhabi Nutrition Mark" at the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi.
The event was attended by H.E. Engineer Abdulla Al Yazeedi, Acting Secretary General of ADQCC, and H.E. Dr. Ahmed AlKhazraji, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC).
The workshop saw the participation of numerous executives, department directors, and representatives from both government and private sector entities, underscoring the Council’s commitment to collaborating with the local community to improve the quality of food products.
This workshop marks the launch of Abu Dhabi's new nutrition labelling system, which will initially apply to specific types of food items in the Emirate. The project aims to empower consumers to make healthier food choices by providing clear and easily accessible nutritional information.
Key topics highlighted during the workshop included the significance of the Abu Dhabi Trust Mark and its role in promoting quality and trust in food products. Manufacturers and traders received comprehensive guidance on implementing the new system, including a detailed explanation of compliance requirements and the monitoring procedures that will ensure adherence to established standards.
Participants also discussed the significant benefits the system offers to traders, consumers, and public health, thereby raising awareness of the importance of proper nutrition. At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees had the opportunity to address challenges they might face during the system’s implementation, fostering the exchange of experiences and ideas.
The active participation of all stakeholders in this vital initiative is a crucial step toward promoting public health and ensuring the quality of food products in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
