“Abu Dhabi, October 31, 2023” – The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council successfully inspected 95,922 products to verify their conformity to standards, issued 2,437 Personnel Services conformity certificates, and 105 calibration certificates for measurement. Additionally, 97,604 laboratory tests were completed, according to the council's operational sectors' performance report for the third quarter of 2023.


The report reveals that the Central Testing Laboratory conducted more than 97 thousand laboratory tests provided by the council from July to September 2023 in various fields of inspection. These fields include food, liquids, water, medicines, medical equipment, building and construction materials, transformer oils, environment, agriculture, and cosmetics.

The Laboratory carried out 58,878 laboratory tests for water, 27,024 tests for food and liquids, 290 tests for medicines and medical equipment, 1,572 tests for building and construction materials, 1,298 tests for transformer oils, 8,130 environmental tests, 170 agricultural tests, 137 for cosmetics, 91 general tests, and 14 technical consultations.

In turn, the council's Market & Consumer Services Sector verified the conformity of 95,922 products to standards during the same period, including 90,000 products during field inspections and 5,922 through electronic platforms. It also verified 11,000 legal measuring instruments and 1,087 pre-packaged products during the third quarter of 2023.

The Market & Consumer Services Sector recalled 16 products from the markets for non-compliance with the required specifications and standards, including 1,288 goods, 31 products were corrected, including 15,491 goods, 3 recalled products were globally withdrawn and found in the UAE's markets.


Meanwhile, the council's Emirates Metrology Institute issued 105 calibration certificates for measurement during the third quarter of this year. It conducted 37 standard measuring device comparisons, implemented a training program, issued 3 training certificates, provided 2 consulting services, and issued 2 consulting reports.

The third-quarter 2023 report showed that the Conformity and Standards Services Sector issued 2,437 Personnel Conformity Services Certificates and renewed 2,157 certificates. It also registered 21 product certificates and 168 product conformity certificates, renewed another 91 certificates, in addition to issuing 10 licenses using the Trust Mark and renewing 23 licenses.

H.E. Dr. Helal Hamed Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the council, stressed the council's keenness to provide all its services within the integrated electronic services system "Tamm" and work to improve and develop them in a way that contributes to reducing time and cost.

Mr. Helal noted that the council's priority list also includes expanding the range of services to meet the needs of partners and involve the private sector in accreditation processes and partnerships concluded to cover them to achieve added value in providing the service.

The Secretary-General stressed that the council seeks to continue to develop and improve the provided services by implementing several qualitative measurement indicators, which in turn contribute to maintaining the quality of products available in the markets, as well as materials and devices used in various business sectors.
